so I StumbledUpon a site called What happened in my birth year? You put in your birth year and it tells you all sorts of things that happened that year. pretty simple, right? as part of the script it goes through, it says the following lines:

"There's a kid outside, shouting, playing. It doesn't care about time. It doesn't know about time. It shouts and it plays and thinks time is forever. You were once that kid."

okay, the sentence is a little clunky. but nonetheless, it nearly brought me to tears. it's true, I was that kid. that kid would have thought all this snow and the possibility of two snow days in a row as pretty darned awesome. that kid would not have spent the day worrying about how in the world she would shovel out her car so she could get to work.

so the question is, can I enjoy life and take things as they come like a child would, or do I have to worry about these things because I am an adult?

growing up sucks.

  1. Both. That's what I don't understand about all these grumblers. So the snow messes up a day or two of your routine? Big deal. If it were two beautiful summery days and the government declared that we all had to stay home and take in the beauty, who would complain? So it's work to get the vehicles out. It's not the end of the world. Get a grip. Enjoy. Play.
