railroad museum and other things

as you may or may not know, Chris has been off on vacation this past week. he's torn down a lot of the paneling in the kitchen and has patched up a lot of holes in the plaster. I am very proud of him. I decided to take a vacation day on Friday so that we could do something fun together. we decided on the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. we were going to also go to Strasburg Railroad, but it didn't work out that way.

let me back up a minute and say that we ordered our new sofa and chair Thursday night. we decided against the ottoman in the end. it is kinda really huge and we think we might do better with just a coffee table instead. but yeah, new furniture should be here sometime at the end of the month. exciting!

so anyway, we got up (reasonably) early on Friday and lounged around the house for a while. then we went to Remi's for brunch. we got pretty much the same things we did last time: a strawberry and cream cheese danish, a ham and cheese croissant, and some pierogies with sour cream. oh, and the world's best chai. how could I forget that? we decided that we would stop by and visit Steve at work on our way, since his place of employment is pretty much the halfway point between our house and the museum, so we bought enough food to share. I think he was happy to see us, it is hard to tell sometimes...

we had a nice visit, then headed back out on the road. the traffic was unreasonable due to construction, so it took quite a bit longer to get there than it should have taken. we left the house for Remi's at 11:30 and reached the museum at 3:00. that's a pretty long day. here are a bunch of pictures from the museum in slide-show format:

so yeah, we had a pretty good time.
