Auld Lang Syne

So 2012 kind of sucked.  A lot.  Except for getting married, which was great, everything mostly sucked and I'm glad to see this year over.  Honestly, the last two years have been some of the worst I've ever had, for reasons I've talked about here (such as Kylie's coma and the death of Morgaine) and some that I haven't.  Just know that it's been really rough for me - so here's to hoping this year will be better than the last.

Moving on, let's review my resolutions from last year.  1) Clean All The Things - okay, so while my house still isn't nearly as clean as it could be, I'd say it is better than it has been in the past.  I am trying to keep on top of things and not let the clutter get out of hand.  2) Be Less Involved - this one is going somewhat well I think. I definitely spend more time at home - the problem is that I spend most of that time watching Netflix.  3) Be More Healthy - with the exception of the last month, I think I did really well with this one.  I've been going to the gym (somewhat) regularly, I started lifting weights, I've been eating better.  While I haven't really lost much weight to speak of, I just feel better about myself and I think I'm overall less jiggly?  And I ran a total of 112.4 miles, so that's not too bad, right?  4) Write More Blog Entries - I totalled 169 for 2012, which is less than last year.  So booooo.

For the most part, my resolutions for 2013 are pretty similar to 2012.  Here they are, in no particular order.

1) Clean All The Things: I think I can really do better with this in 2013.  Having a better looking kitchen has been a big help because I actually care about it looking nice.  And I'm hoping to start working on the living room soon, so maybe that will carry over.

2) Be More Healthy: I want to keep up with this.  I want to eat healthy and be more consistent with my running and lifting.  I would like to run a mile a day, but I think that's a bit of a bold statement to make.  Instead I think I'll aim for 4 miles a week, or 200 miles in the year.  I'm not picky.  I would like to do another 5k, because that was pretty invigorating.  And I want to run outside more often, instead of just on the treadmill.

3) Write More Blog Entries: I have a lot of high hopes for this blog in 2013.  I have a calendar of blog entries all written up for January, and a whole list of post ideas for upcoming months.  I have a bunch of weekly and monthly themes.  I am ready!

4) Do More Art: painting, drawing, sewing, whatever.  I want to make some stuff, and maybe even sell it on Etsy.  I want to take steps towards living my dream, however small they may be.

So there you have it.  Come on 2013 - be full of good things.
